Following on from the success of her latest album The Moon Looked On, Clare Bowditch will visit The Bakery in July to bring the delightful sounds off this album to Perth ears as part of her Winter Secrets Tour.
Clare’s latest album hangs a lush covering of South-East Asian instrumentation over meldious pop hooks. Her live show is equally as encaptulating and a treat for the ears.

After featuring the talents of Flying Lotus, Theo Parrish and Maurice Fulton the {move} collective returns to The Bakery for their next installment featuring Harmonic 313 (a.k.a Mark Pritchard) and Steve Spacek Sound System.
As those who caught their last show here in Perth will know, the Mark Pritchard and Steve Spacek Sound System journeys across vast musical territories. With remarkable skill and sincerity, Pritchard delivers on the “ones and twos” whilst Spacek toasts on the Mic and provides live vocals throughout.
Harmonic 313 and Steve Spacek throw down an extended 4hr set, with supports from localsMarc Kaminski, PMI, Dan The Man and Ben Taaffe.
Expect a night of bleeps, bloops and basslines wobblier than a plate of jelly, with heavy doses of soul, funk and inimicable future soundwaves!

Sugar Blue Burlesque

Perth’s own Sugar Blue Burlesque company will help take The Bakery back in time on the last Sunday of every month by turning it into a glamourous, cheeky, exotic and sexy Burlesque parlour.
The Back To Burlesque night will feature stunning performances from Perth’s most seductive teaseuses and musical backing from sultry jazz bands and DJs.
With an emphasis on class and the golden age of 1920s beauty, Sugar Blue Burlesque will tantalise and entertain audiences all while keeping their gorgeous vintage costumes firmly on.
Back to Burlesque is held at The Bakery on the last Sunday of each month.

Chocolate Martini

Chocolate Martini is a monthly event held at The Bakery, which showcases some of Australia’s best indigenous musicians.
The Chocolate Martini event is now being filmed for the NITV channel of Foxtel and Austar, so why not come down and get your face on the big screen!
The line-up for the month of July will be added to The Bakery website closer to the date.

Pivot: O Soundtrack My Heart Album Launch

Having spent the first part of 2008 touring Europe and the UK supporting the likes of Yellow Magic Orchestra, Battles, Chemical Brothers, playing Glastonbury and the Massive Attack curated Meltdown Festival at London's Royal Festival Hall, Pivot are returning home to launch O Soundtrack My Heart their highly anticipated sophomore release.
O Soundtrack My Heart sees Pivot combining the emotive and cerebral - the raw garage energy of three explosive musicians alongside intensive studio production. Part prog-warrior, part slacker-geek, their music and approach provide something much needed.

Tujiko Noriko

Tujiko Noriko is a Japanese avant-pop/experimental musician who has been compared to the likes of múm and Björk. With a unique sound Noriko uses repetitive layers of samples, electronic beats and melodies gradually added on top of each other, with her singing on top of that. Noriko's lyrics are in Japanese and English.
Noriko currently lives in Paris and working on experimental short movies, having completed two movies: Sand and Mini Hawaii and Sun.
Noriko will be playing a a collection of her music at a special performance at The Bakery in August, which will truly be a performance not to be missed!

Holly Throsby: A Loud Call Album Launch

One of Sydney’s most talented singer/songwriters, Holly Throsby returns to Perth to launch her third album A Loud Call. Recorded in Nashville with engineer and producer Mark Nevers [Lambchop, Will Oldham], A Loud Call features guests Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy, and members of Lambchop and Silver Jews.
As part of her most extensive national tour to date her extensive Holly Throsby will plat at The Bakery on Saturday September 20 supported by long time bandmates Bree van Reyk and Jens Birchall.
