TOM TOM CLUB. Graduates of Australia’s famous Flying Fruit Fly Circus flip, fly and slam up hard and fast. Join the Tom Tom Club for a fun free workshop. Try a tumble, backflip and circus tricks with the energy filled performers from TOM TOM. 4–4.40pm.

KITE KINETICS. Michael Alvares and his team conduct a kite-making workshop for all ages with a dozen different styles of kite on offer using recycled and natural materials. 4.30–5.30pm.

100 DRUMS WORKSHOP. Brazilian style drumming workshop run by members of Beleza Samba. Learn traditional Brazilian drumming techniques. They’ve got 100 drums for you to use, or bring your own and take part in the workshop and resulting parade. 5–6.15pm.

FIRE SCULPTURES. Celebrate the end of the Festival with the spectacular burning of four custom-made fire sculptures. Created by graduate students of the sculpture program at Central TAFE, the breath-taking sculptures glow and change shape amongst the luscious greenery of Northbridge’s prettiest park to the sounds from the main stage. 6.30pm, 7.30pm, 8.30pm and 9.30pm.

MADJIDAL MOORNA CHOIR. An all-ages community choir that sings indigenous music, led by award-winning musicians Della Rae Morrison and Jessie Lloyd. Singing traditional songs in native language and contemporary songs of love, loss and joy, the group has been winning over audiences since their first performance in 2006. 6.30pm.

THE MACE FRANCIS ORCHESTRA. Recently returned from a barn-storming national tour, 13 of Perth’s finest young musicians and composers create new and exciting arrangements. A performance not to miss, the classic big band sounds of the Mace Francis Orchestra will hit the centre of Northbridge in a pop, rock and hip hop family concert with swinging style! 8pm.

INSTITUT POLAIRE. Since winning critical acclaim nationwide for their debut EP “The Fauna and the Flora” (Popfrenzy Records), Institut Polaire have received accolades aplenty, appeared at multiple festivals and been nominated for the inaugural Triple J “Unearthed” J Award. 2008 saw the entire eight-piece pull up stakes from Perth and head east to Melbourne to write and record their debut LP, but we decided it was time to bring them home. This atmospheric pop collective make a big sound that is quirky, chirpy, sweeping and cinematic, featuring a spectrum of instrumentation from trumpet to violin. Their vocal harmonies are sublime. 9pm.

If you don’t love them already, we think you will soon
