The Cultural Centre is the heart of the SILVER ARTRAGE Festival 2008.

With performances at PICA, The Blue Room and The Rechabites Hall, and other programs extending up William Street and James Street to The Bakery ARTRAGE Complex, visit the precinct on multiple occasions over the three weeks of the festival and experience something new each time.

PEOPLE POWER in the Cultural Centre is a free program that activates the area over the festival, running alongside the enormous outdoor Earth from Above exhibition. It’s a program designed to generate good times, generate thought about issues of sustainability, and generate electricity…

WA’s first mobile, networked, pedal-power generator system is a feature.

Bring in your bike, or use one of ours and contribute your pedal power to producing electricity to run parts of the PEOPLE POWER program!

This includes 1000 LED lights attached to kites flying above the Cultural Centre on the Saturday night of the Northbridge Festival.

Take part in the collective generation of a new star-filled sky that’s powered by the people—alongside free programs including Silent Disco, Laser Tag, The Booth, Schmigloo, The Forbidden Garden, 100 Drums, The Silver Street Surge Parade, Tom Tom Club and 1000 Trees.

1000 Trees = the SILVER ARTRAGE Festival being carbon-neutral.

Western Power is supporting the planting of enough trees to compensate for production of the festival. We want the festival to not only be carbon-neutral, we want it to be carbon-negative and we need your help.

Gold coin donations during the PEOPLE POWER program will go towards the planting of even more trees.
Bring a coin. Bring your bike. Bring your smiles and energy.
