Leigh Claessen’s latest body of work is a compilation of wood and resin blocks and artworks on canvas based on her “own backyard”. Works are created through the application of multiple layers of acrylic paint, scraped back and sculpted, giving the work a three-dimensional quality. Her stunning images are abstract reflections of, and mirrors to, our urban world which offer the viewer a multiplicity of new perspectives.
