WHAT IS ARTRAGE?

Artrage Inc is a WA not-for-profit incorporated association and registered charity that began its life as The Festival Fringe Society of Perth in 1983.

Over its 28 years, Artrage has presented tens of thousands of artists and performers to hundreds of thousands of Western Australians and visitors to our state.

Artrage is currently planning towards the establishment of a new Fringe Festival in Perth starting in 2012. As a significant state initiative, the plan received support from Lotterywest in 2011. This included funding towards the strategic purchase of an original Spiegeltent from the Klessen family of Antwerp, making Perth's Fringe the only fringe in the world to own its own Spiegeltent. It also included the staging of Fringe World in 2011 - a teaser, taster and tester program for bigger things to come.

Artrage runs its own multi-arts venue which presents a diverse program of contemporary live music, exhibitions and performances throughout the year. The Bakery houses galleries, performance studios, bar, gig spaces and a licensed outdoor courtyard.

Artrage also produces large-scale commissions and special programs. These programs have included the Semi-Permanent International Design Conference with Sydney-based Design is Kinky, the Northbridge Festival & NYE Northbridge Programs with the City of Perth.
